Peer Review Process

All research articles submitted to INSIGHT will be reviewed by the Editorial Board to ensure they fit the journal's scope of subject matter and to verify that they meet all formal editorial requirements. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject any article that does not meet the journal's requirements. In such cases, the Editorial Board will not engage in a debate with the author regarding the reasons for the rejection.

Submissions that pass the initial review by the Editorial Board will undergo double-blind peer review by an expert in the field in which the research was conducted. The review process takes approximately three weeks.

 

The reviewer's report on the submission typically includes:

• a general evaluation of the research conducted and the paper's arguments, methodology, and claims;
• a primary assessment of the suitability of the submission for publication;
• a list of major errors or deficiencies, particularly in the authors' methodology;
• suggestions for improvement.

 

At the Editorial Board's discretion, reviewers' comments may be forwarded in whole or in part to the author. Reviewers will be asked to make one of the following recommendations:

publish without major changes;

Publish pending revision and approval by the Editorial Board (in which case, reviewers must provide suggestions for revisions, specifying which changes are optional and which are mandatory);

Submit to a second double-blind peer review;

Ask the author to revise and resubmit;

Reject outright.

 

After the peer review process, members of the Editorial Board will evaluate the article based on the reviewers' reports. They will then decide whether to reject the article, ask the author to develop it further, or publish it.

After reaching an affirmative decision on whether to publish an article, the Editorial Board will add the work to the editorial portfolio, where it will await publication in a future issue. The author of the article will be notified when this occurs.

 

When an article is rejected, the author will be notified in writing by the journal's executive secretary.

If consensus cannot be reached on an article, the Editorial Board may conduct a second peer review (this may also apply to work that has been revised by the author at the Editorial Board's request).

The review process typically takes four to six weeks. Accepted articles will typically be published in the order in which they were reviewed. However, the Editorial Board reserves the right to determine the order in which articles are published.

All decisions regarding the publication of articles and the content of each issue are made at Editorial Board meetings.

Article preparation and publication are handled by the journal's editorial staff and will consist of editing and reformatting the manuscript to ensure it meets the journal's standards. Editorial corrections will be discussed with the author.
